On a night off from when I was working at the Paul’s Mall/Jazz Workshop in Boston, Ricky Nelson was in town and performed at the club. I went to go see him and after the show, went backstage (just a couple of small rooms) and Ricky Nelson was there talking to a few fans when I snapped this photo of him, with the cig hanging from his mouth signing an autograph on an album cover.
